MAS Progressive Honing Systems:

MAS Progressive Honing machines give unsurpassed bore
accuracy, and are ideal for the production honing
of medium and large mechanical components.
A complete range of specialised honing machines
can be supplied, with either rotary or linear tables,
from 1 to 24 stations, equipped with special camping
fixtures, floating spindles and mandrels, together with CNC
or PLC control of each parameter, give excellent roundness,
cylindricity, taper, straightness and surface finishing results.
MAS machines ensure every single bore is produced
to one single predictable finished size.
MAS honing machines are supplied
with integral coolant filtering systems.
Vertical expansion honing module
MAS has developed a brilliant new innovative flexible, modular honing system.
The idea consists of standard Expansion Modules which can either be used
as stand-alone items or combined with Progressive Honing modules
in single or multi-spindle versions.
The Expansion Module has been designed for roughing large quantities
of material whilst simultaneously creating a crosshatch pattern.
Its working range is from 5 to 150 mm diameter.
It provides fast, accurate and precision honing for a variety of jobs
such as gears, cylinder liners, cylinder barrels, connecting rods,
rocker arms, fuel injectors, hydraulic parts etc.
The compact design is simple, robust and modular.
Standard features include CNC control of both the honing cycle
and coolant filtration system.
MAS Expansion Modules are designed to work not only
with their own expandable single- and multi-stone honing mandrels,
but tooling produced by all other major honing manufacturers as well.
MAS honing machines are able to hone almost
any kind of material from cast iron to treated steels,
including inox steels, sintered parts, aluminium,
carbon fibres, light alloys and ceramics.
Diameters range from 4 to 60mm
and lengths up to 400mm.
